Have shoes become the most important part of your wardrobe?
Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right pair of shoes, and she can conquer the world.” Looking at the current shopping trends of Australian women, there seems to be some truth in her sentiment.
Women have recounted stories about their love affair with shoes for decades. Unlike apparel, shoes have the ability to change the way a woman feels in an instant and its not just about how they look and feel on our feet, but they directly correlate to how we feel within our self. Whether it walking taller, or faster, or walking firmly to the ground, a woman’s selection of shoes directly relates to their emotional wellbeing.
According to Fotini at Peter Sheppard Footwear, women are starting to dress from the ground up. “Shoes are the first item purchased these days and then an outfit is matched to the shoes after that,” she explains. “We find that women are becoming more adventurous with their footwear. No longer are black and brown the staple colour as women are leaning towards vibrant colour, or patterns. Mixtures in materials such as a patent leather mixed with calf, or stretch materials paired with high sheen leather is also really popular. Overall, we are noticing that women want to make a statement with their shoes and fortunately we have an enormous range to satisfy them.”
Peter Sheppard Footwear carries the largest range of shoes in Australia. For over 40 years they have been travelling the world to find unique and exclusive collections to launch to the Australian market so the majority of the shoes found here cannot be found anywhere else in Australia.
With up to 1000 styles on display, is it any wonder why it has become the shoe destination for women all over Australia.
